Hi, my name is Matthias,
and I am currently working as a Game and Level Designer at Purple Lamp on an unannounced project. My journey in the industry began in 2022 during the summer break of my studies, where I was able to join Pow Wow Entertainment for a 3 month long voluntary internship as a game and level designer.
I then returned to Pow Wow in February for a mandatory internship for the duration of 2 months as a game and level designer once more, before officially being hired in April. During this time, I did Level and Game Design work on Jected -Rivals, creating new Game Modes and designing and building new maps, while occasionally even taking over Set Dressing and Lighting duties.
Next to my work, I finished my Bachelor Studies of Interactive Media and Games Business in June. Besides receiving important knowledge about level-, narrative- and game design, we also had many courses which focused on economics and project management, which gave me a great foundation to understand what is needed in a project both from a management and team perspective.
I moved into Level Design because I love creating spaces for others to experience stories, action and fun. Working creatively and inspiring others with my craft is ultimately what I strive towards. In doing that, passion and dedication are essential to me in my work and beyond.
